Jaime Giangrande-Holcom is a Brooklyn native and has been working in the Tampa Bay theater scene since 2001. She graduated from USF with a BA in Theater Ed and a minor in American Sign Language. Mrs. GH has been working as a theatre educator since 2004 and has worked for some of Tampa Bay’s finest theater companies as an Actor and Stage Manager and is the Artistic Director of the sketch comedy troupe Some Sort of Show. Mrs. GH has also served as a part of the International Thespian Society as both student, adjudicator, and educator. When she is not working in the theater, she is home with her wonderful husband, Chris and her two crazy little girls Olivia and Thea. She also has 5 feathered daughters (her chickens) and a four-legged son (American Bulldog) named Mutzy. She is honored to call Plant Theatre home.
The student board of directors is a leadership group appointed by the director for their outstanding commitment to the program by the director. The board organizes fundraisers and handles finances in conjunction with the parent Booster Board, and organizes affairs for the company throughout the year ranging from auditions to group outings.
Plant Theatre Company offers an array of opportunities for students who wish to pursue technical aspects of theatre. Technical theatre classes offered by Plant help students explore the many fields of technical theatre and hone in on their interests and skills. Technical crews for productions include sounds, lights, costumes, makeup, set construction, and running.
Performers of Plant Theatre learn about a variety of styles of choreography, acting, and vocal training. They are are offered the chance to showcase their skills in main stage productions as well as regional, state, and national competitions.
